PURE CARDIO SQUARED - "insanity"

WHOA! That is a lot of sweat!” Is what I was thinking to myself as we were half way finished with our Insanity workout this morning.
Lets back up a few first.
Yesterday , My sometimes workout partner, Alejandra agreed to meet this morning at 520 am so that we that she can do Insanity with me.
We get there, NO Alejandra and as a matter of a fact, the gym room that we use to do our workouts, was not available because of painting.
I was like REALLY!
Armando, the guy that works at the counter tells me this as im checking in. “hey, Tiyona, by the way, the Group x room is open BUT smells like paint, so you might want to do your video workout somewhere else in the gym”.
So Michael and I walk around, look and I get discouraged. Then , I was told, there is a spot upstairs but you have to get there before it gets crowded.
I damn near broke my ankles trying to get up stairs.
I get up there and yes there is space, I set up and push play.
DURING THE WORKOUT
While, I’m working out this man comes and sits on the machine next to me. He is staring at the screen and seemed mesmerized by all the jumping and sweating going on.
“What are you staring at it for…Get up and join us” I tell him.
It seems as if he was awaiting the invite and jumped up and joined it.
He was doing pretty good for a fellow who just walked up and decided to do Insanity. I could tell he wasn’t going to be with us long, he was already sweat soaked from his previous workout.
Once, he had enough of his mini ass kicking, he stepped back and said, “Whew! That is good. “, I turned to him and said” And this is JUST the warm up!” You should have seen his eyes…Priceless!
I think that was the moment he realized running it’s going to do it alone.
Back to the workout, I look over as I’m taking a water break and guess who I see…Alejandra! On the Stairmill!
Oh hell no!
I ran over and said “hi, we are over here come on and lets go…come on come on…we only have 10 minutes left” As she is trying to tell me she didn’t see me and yada yada yada J.
We get back over, and I missed like 30 seconds , that’s okay. We start and as she is getting warmed up and Michael and I are already kinda pooped because we only had 5 minutes left…I go back 10 minutes on the dvd!
Michael looked at me as to say “Okay, Let’s do this, but I think Alejandra, might die”
As I was working this workout, I realized that I must be in amazing fucking shape. I just did 10 extra minutes of Pure Cardio.
Wait, I just realized something, I’m getting closer and closer to my goal of being able to do Pure Cardio for 10 mins straight NO stopping or taking breaks.
LONG STORY SHORT…..WE SMASHED THAT! Lol

I’m so happy that I didn’t make excuses and I feel great that I got to do my workout.

i just started doing these workouts with more and more weight. and i noticed that since i started doing that, i am getting a lot tigher but not bigger (bulk) just tigher. i love it and how it makes me feel to have the power to lift!

Don't be so Salty! - Healthy Eating ! Fat to Phat Challenge



Hey Yal. Okay i noticed that alot of you like to salt your food before during and after your cooking it. I know that it what we are use to but it is not what we should be doing to our food and our bodies. Learning to reduce your salt intake will help decrease your risk of high blood pressure and other problems.
Its bad enough that the food is already processed, it does NOT help that we continue to add other products to the "food" that makes it and us weak.
Some people may think that just becuase ythey are cooking their own food that its healthier. This can be the truth IF the person cooking is aware of the ingredients they are using, how much they are using and the effects of that ingredient on the body. There is more to fitness and cooking than broiling something, instead of frying. You have to really truly consider what is happening to the food and how it will affect your weightloss and fitness journey!

Pushing..well Pulling Myself

Okay Just Challenged myself to do 10 Chinnups and Pullups. Now , im not gonna lie, i damn near bust a gut lol but i know i need to regenerate. so, I did...... ALL 10 CHINUPS AND 10 and a Possible lol Pullups. I got one but it was really right..didnt want to cheat myself! ;) what have you done to challenge yourself today?

This mornings workout was hard for me today. I dont know if I was making it harder than it really was OOORR it really was hard. I am having my "visitor" this week and boy is she demanding. Demanding all my energy and my time. I know that she comes and goes but I didnt want to go another day with out giving it a try at a harder workout. I hate being "on" but hey what cn you do. So what I did this morning was just go for it.

I was out of it for sure. I thought oh okay let me just keep doing this. I could feel my chest on fire and the burn in my legs. My arms and legs were very weak. This ws just the warm up. I said to myself, "Self, if you dont do this you will feel bad..if you do this you feel bad , just for the moment. .. i decided to go for the long term good feeling.

So during the first 3 mins of the workout i was huffing and puffing and wondering what the hell was going on. As the ticker kept ticking I could find myself getting upset. I was mad because I knew that iin the back of my mind I was bsing around!

I musterded up the little energy I had and made it multiplied. Imade it thru the HIIT 15 ANd i did the core 20.

see I own my body and my mind is the CEO! I made it happen..despite my icky weak feeling andn ow... i feel...like..a ...SUPERSTAR!

Daily goal: off to drink my gallon of water for the day.

This weeks challenge is meant to teach you about the importance of water
The Human body is composed mostly of WATER!!

Signals of dehydration can be any of the following symptoms:

Heartburn, stomach ache

Non-infectious recurring or chronic pain

Low back pain

Headache

Mental irritation and depression

Water retention ( ironic but true! )

Further problems often develop when the sensation of thirst urges an intake of water, and instead, soda pop, coffee, or alcohol-containing beverages are taken to quench the thirst. While these beverages contain water, they are actually dehydrating fluids. Not only do they eliminate the water contained in them, but they also cause you to lose further amounts of water from your body's reserves!

112oz :Daily Water Requirements:
Drink 50-75% of your body weight in ounces.
Sedentary people: 50%;
Active people: 75%

Example Calculation:

150 Pounds of body weight
Water requirement from above (75% of body weight for an active person)

Add for dryness of climate +16oz

Add for strenous exercise +16oz
Total per day 144.5 oz.
Divide by the number of hours you're awake to find your hourly water requirement: 144.5 ÷ 16 = 9 oz.

Therefore, a 150-pound active person who works out should drink 9 oz. of

TURBOFIRE & TIYONA - 21 WEEKS OF FIRE

I m starting Turbofire on Monday FEb 7, 2011 ! i am going to do the Turbofire 5 day inferno first and then i am going to do the Turbofire 20 week class schedule.
I am having some pretty big hopes for turbofire. if can get myself down with the body fat i will be happy. i dont think i need to lose WEIGHT i think that Turbofire will help me burn the FAT. i dont want to be any lighter than i already am. As you can see my current weight is about 10lbs LESS than i would like to be. So i am in NO mood for weightloss. fat loss yes.. okay turbofire here is your chance to show me whats going to happen. I know that yes ima beachbody coach, BUT i will only tell you my true experiece. that is why i am having you follow my journey. We will see if this works!

Talk to WAlk to Run -


Got up this morning in a crazy mood. I was still thinking about all the cramp the full moon brought to me. Well anyways. So I went out this morning with the intention of just using my phone to get better signal. I had to make a call real quick before I did my abs work. Well while was out there. I started walking and talking. Before I knew it I had already made it like two blocks. So as soon as the conversation was over and my phone was safely in my pocket. I took off! I just went and started to run. I don’t know what was taking over my legs but they were moving.
I started to think of all the things that we keep a hold on my brain. The more and more I thought about the shit in my life that was trying to keep me from advancing...the faster I ran,,the more I felt the need to succeeed and beat out all those who hate on progress of any kind, mine or anyones, I begin to run harder.
I ran and ran and ran. Before I knew it I had probably ran about 1 whole mile! I know you are thinking what the fu(k ! one mile. Yes, 1 mile. That 1 mile is MY 1 mile! It has been a long time since I felt the engery and the power to fun so hard and fast. Putting my whole heart and emotion in running is what it took. It was like being able to punch and kick those things that make you unhappy without lifting a finger. It’s the best kind of fight.
It’s the best in the sense, of it doesn’t matter if I win or lose, I still win! I got pushed and pushed back; T got fed up and didn’t give up. Now I don’t know how much of an ass aching imp going to have tomorrow but I know one thing….Today I feel like a champ! 1/20/2011

MAKING TIME FOR YOURSELF - TAKE A MIND REST DAY

MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF THIS YEAR, IF NOT NOW, THEN WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO REALIZE THAT YOU ONLY GET ONE BODY? TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
It took me sometime to realize that i was going down the wrong path. I mean, I was not eating wrong, not too bad, I was taking care of my business and my family. I was brushing my teeth one day and realized i may be getting a cavity and i might want to get it looked at before it gets worse. I know how important my teeth are, who the hell needs a run down about that. Well, we all know that one guy who doesnt seem to think so, but i know. I have now walked around for almost amonth has gone by.
I have been so focused on how I need to take this paper here, go sign this, go move that, pick this up, drop that off, where you need me to be baby, okay lets go tot he store...just thing after thing. Not that i dont want to do these things, not all, but of course i want to be with my boo and do things with him but doesnt mean i dont want me time. I mean time just to think and clear my head.
Oh but some people try to say , you can't do that with kids, or you cant time for yourself when you work 60hours, and so on and so on. I got to thinking. I if I dont take the time for myself , at least a few mins a day, WHEN , WHEN WOULD I? So, I will, I vowed to myself. Tiyona, that I would take time everyday at least 10mins to do something for me. I suggest youdo the same. just likeyour body needs a rest day so does your mind.

Getting My Fit Phatty Challenge in!

Today I got up at 536am. A little later than normal. At first I was a little upset about it tand then I said hey, whatever, do what you canm with the time you have. So I decided to go ahead and knock out my 20 pushups and dips for the Fit Phatty Weekly challenge. I also did additional arm work by adding in a couple (8) of pullups. Since I was in the mood by now I also worked on my booty. I think I might start uping the working for my body and booty. I mean I have been going a little soft lately. I think its time for me to just get all up in it. The next time I report something about these challenges, its gonna be that I have surpassed them, if even my one damn pushup with will be happening. Watch what I do!
