JUNE 29, 2011 Day 3 of 30 Insanity the Asylum workout 2, STRENGTH
I got my butt kicked, again!! Just so you know, the writing in this blog may suck...im tired lol. Thanks to Shaun T. this workout, although it wasn’t as fast paced as the previous workouts, it still held its ground on being a challenging workout. Doing cardio and then doing resistance and weight training are NOT the same, but somehow Insanity the Asylum seems too good a damn good job of blending the two.
The first couple of moves were meant to warm you up. If you have not done any strength training before this may be a crazy start for you. Just keep in mind to go your pace. Well during the workout I was sweating like crazy. I had to push pause, go make myself half water, half recovery formula combo. I could feel the muscles being worked and they (my muscles) were becoming drained. I didn’t want to completely stop so I recharged. It took me like 1 minute to put the mix together. After downing it and getting back to my workout, I could feel the recovery working and sure enough I was back on it. The one move that will be my challenge move for this workout, the pushup /plank progression. Not sure that’s the name of it exactly. It’s the move that he does with the dumbbells, and does pushups with the spider man move. J I’m going to conquer that one too.
I used 10 and 15 pound dumbbells for this workout and I did the pull up bar version. Next time I’m going to do the workout, strength with bands. That way I can get myself a new experience with the bands. I love bands but maybe this workout will show me more ways to use it.
Well I complete my workout and then I did some jumping jacks to get my legs ready. I didn’t do a whole workout; however, I worked my glutes (bootay) today. I got in 2 sets of 15 with the 25 pound plates. I can feel the burning in my butt cheeks as I’m typing this now. That tells me I went deep into the bend. I’m happy about that.
